1)     What are charts and how do we use them?

                                                              i.      Learn to identify and draw trend lines, double tops and bottoms.

                                                            ii.      What are 50 day and 200 day Moving Averages and how to use them?

2)     What is fundamental analysis and how do we use it to find stocks?

                                                              i.      How to use P/E ratios, P/E to growth ratios, changes in consensus estimates, changes in consensus opinions, relative earnings and P/E’s.

3)     Creating a diversified Portfolio

                                                              i.      How to win a stock contest and why that is different from long term investing. What does diversity mean when picking stocks?

Spring Semester

The Illinois Stock Market Game

1)     Using Teamwork and consensus building to pick stocks

2)     Defining the roles of a Portfolio Manager, Trader and Technician.

3)     What is the Relative Strength of a stock and how do we use it.

4)     Introduce weekly economic concepts and show how the economy affects the stock market and individual stocks.
