Religion – This Is Our Faith

The church is the focus of the third grade religion curriculum

      To learn the marks of the church – one holy, catholic and apostolic

      To know God more fully in the three persons of the Trinity

      To learn the meaning of the Apostles Creed and what Catholics believe

      To understand and appreciate that prayer brings us closer to God

      To review the seven sacraments

      To learn the Ten Commandments and how they help us to make good decisions

Phonics is taught as part of reading program

Comprehension and literacy skills are developed through Guided Reading with an emphasis on fluency of reading

      Critical thinking skills are also emphasized
